ALIAS : A SENSORY EXPLORATION BY SHYGIRL

ALIAS: A Sensory Exploration by Shygirl transforms the record’s core themes—identity, intimacy, and distortion—into a multisensory environment with a series of body-inspired installations where anatomy, sound, and memory intertwine. Developed with London-based multidisciplinary duo Francesco Loy Bell (Man About Town, Wonderland, ES Mag, Milk Machine) and Oliver Bell (LVMH, Off The Block, Arc’Teryx, Sinead Gorey) and renowned lighting and set designer Shaun Murphy (Charli XCX, Arca, Aphex Twin), visitors will enter the space to encounter a living skin speaker that sweats to a constant pulse base.  The cymatic installation uses light and vibration to visualize all seven tracks of ALIAS, translating the sonic landscape of the EP into something that’s not audible to the naked ear but instead experienced visually..

SHYGIRL 5 YEARS OF ALIAS EP :  LIVE PERFORMANCE

Shygirl presented a special live performance of the EP on the evening of Saturday 25 October at the Centre Pompidou.  A collaboration with London-based transmedia artist, future mythologies theorist and practitioner and the founder of HYDRA, Anna Gloria Flores, the performance looks to bring to life a site specific adaptation of “HYDRA Breathing Orchid (a cervix a throat) Portal”; research piece, artefact and ritualistic gear using Shygirl’s body and voice as an activator.
