Bio
Keziah's been a constant source of inspiration to me for years so to add a little GP bounce is a pleasure! What a great way to start my remixing career!" Gilles Peterson
Nigerian-born Blufunk innovator Keziah Jones is pleased to announce that he will be joining the line-up of 'Tony Allen 70 - Nigeria 50', a special one-off concert taking place at London's Barbican on 6 October which celebrates two anniversaries: the 70th birthday of legendary Afrobeat drummer Tony Allen and Nigeria's 50th year of Independence.
Citing Jimi Hendrix and Fela Kuti as his main influences Keziah's fluid, acrobatic vocals and distinctive guitar-playing make for unique sound of Afrobeat, blues, rock, pop - and of course Bluefunk. To celebrate the event, Keziah will release a digital remix by Gilles Peterson of his Afro-Funk track "Lagos vs New York" on the 18th October 2010 in the UK.
